I felt sick to my stomach the entire time.
Five stars!
I think it’s time we start hiring other lead actors that aren’t Timothee Chalamet. It was pretty obvious he was pretty fresh to guitar, having long nails isn’t the only requirement.
I watched a 2 hour biopic about an artist and didn’t learn anything about him. I felt no attachment or investment in his desires of his or anyone around him. Utterly soulless movie that is undeserving of the attention it’s garnering.
Any movie with Ke Huy Quan is a good movie.
His back must be killing him from carrying this movie (and getting the shit kicked out of him).
Horrible chemistry with the female lead, she was a puzzling casting choice.
Cheesy writing that makes you wonder whether they were actually going for the kinds of laughs they got.
But Quan’s fight scenes are really something to marvel at, it really makes up for this movie’s shortcomings. Good stuff.
Don’t look back in anger
Art. Sad. Much wow. Using capitalization now.
the moon gets cut in half and no one bats an eye
“time waits for no one”
regrets from how you’ve handled yourself, how you’ve affected others, and the kind of mistakes you’ve never quite forgiven yourself for all come together in this movie.
everything from the cicadas to the striking shadows and clouds fills the screen with an eye-watering amount of breath-taking detail, but that won’t be the only thing bringing on the water works.
avoidance is the greatest source of regret. take that chance, stupid.
“None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free”
Loved the color palette, sound, score but the themes the film worked so hard to build throughout the entire runtime really started to fall apart near the end. Felt very abrupt
holy fuck i wanted to gauge my eyes out
this movie is 118 minutes too long
How can every frame be so beautiful? I want to savor it all but I feel like I’ll forget, just like waking from a dream. It really is like the sieve and the sand…
I can’t get over the ending. I’ve struggled with the concept of destiny and soulmates and I still don’t think I understand, or if I ever will. Each time their paths briefly intersected, I had shed a tear for another wasted chance. The ending is almost cruel if it weren’t for the last line. We make decisions in our lives that sometimes feel like self-sabotage in retrospect and this ending replicates that deep gut-feeling that you know you missed something over and over.
I can’t help but think about the relationships in my life that I MISSED because it wasn’t a good time, we were in different places in life, the feelings weren’t mutual at that point, I wasn’t mature enough, the person moved away, etc. It’s a goddamn tragedy that puts knots in my stomach. A knot I also wish I can unravel and travel back in time to try again.
Two parallel lines will never intersect, forever separated, never to join. Two non-parallel lines are bound to intersect, only briefly, never to meet again.
I don’t know, maybe this is a tragedy—it sure feels like it to me.

At this point in the movie series, David is basically an arbiter of death. INSANE
i’m ready for this movie series to be my latest obsession
